Richmond, Virginia serves as an ideal locale for individuals from numerous cultures throughout the world to call home. The RVA region boasts its accessibility and importance in bringing together people through its status as a hub in the Atlantic region, Capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, home to a leading research university and world-class hospital system, and a locale of one of the US Federal Banks. In a single walk down a Richmond street it isn’t uncommon to pass by individuals from multiple continents.

Recognizing the challenges that come from being in a new country and culture, and having to learn a new language and customs, the Glen Allen church has been active in reaching out to individuals of all nationalities through our FriendSpeak program for over 5 years. Having enjoyed the relationships and watched the growth, a group of individuals set in motion a new ministry to reach a specific audience in late 2012. As a result, our Korean Outreach Ministry was born.

Every week on Monday evening (8:30-9:30 PM) a group of individuals from the local Korean-speaking community meet together with members from the Glen Allen church for Bible study and a time of fellowship. We are very encouraged by the heart for Christ within this community and look forward to the opportunity to reach more Koreans with the Good News of Jesus Christ in a safe place for learning and fellowship.
