The dominant theme of the first four chapters of I Corinthians is the problem of disunity. Some were saying, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." All of these represent a use of worldly standards in evaluating one another and a willingness to divide into various "camps."
