The church at Corinth was not lacking in any spiritual gifts. But, they were using some of these as an ego-trip in the assembly, and de-valuing those with "lesser" gifts. This was largely due to their pagan background.
Considering One Another in an Un-Christian World

There were two factions at Corinth who disagreed over whether or not it was okay to eat meat that had been offered to an idol. As in all disagreements among Christians, the un-Christian approach is simply to dismiss the other side. But Paul says we need to consider one another.
